Blue & Wine Expo 2015

31st July 2015

On June 27th 2015, Blue & Wine Expo has been organized for the second time by the Ruse Municipality within the impressive premises of Dohodno Zdanie in Ruse. Twelve wine regions of the Danube Wine Route presented their wines from around 30 different wineries from Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania and Serbia.

As last year, the Exhibition has been accompanied by Roman Market at Sexaginta Prista organized by the National Museum of Ruse and an Ecological Awareness Campaign on Ruse Quay supported by Focal Point Destination Danube.

At Sexaginta Prista, visitors had the chance to experience the ancient way of living by tasting wines and traditional food. The event also offered a Roman cohort, noblemen, artists, craftsmen and potters, minters and merchants, as well as the re-enactment of a slave market.

As a part of Roman Emperors and Danube Wine Route project, a travelling exhibition from Felix Romuliana is hosted in the premises of the National Museum of Ruse and presented an additional attraction for visitors.

For the first time this year there has been a kiosk at the harbour to directly approach cruise tourists and invite them to the event. This promotional tool was successful and raised the number of foreign visitors and the scope of the whole event.

Generally, the number of visitors has been doubled compared to last year to approximately 500 people.

Blue & Wine Expo again proved to be an important event to promote the Wines from the Danube Region and will be organised again next year on the last weekend of June.
