Danube wine trends in Serbia for 2016

29th December 2016

Organized by Serbian wine & gastronomy magazine Vino & Fino on 26th December, the annual party took place at the hall of the Marriott Hotel in Belgrade.  Every year, this event serves as an indicator of trends and development on the Serbian wine scene.

This year, we are honoured to announce that our colleague Tomislav Ivanovic who is involved in wine-related activities of the DCC in the framework of Roman Emperors and Danube Wine cultural route development has been awarded the Wine Personality of the Year 2016 in Serbia.

In addition, the award for the best white wine in 2016 has been awarded to wine SAGA 2015 from Bjelica Winery (Fruska Gora, Srem) proving that wines from the Danube region are reaching top quality on the market. The award for the best rosé wine in Serbia in 2016 has also been awarded to a wine from the Danube region: ROZE NOSTRA 2015 from Erdevik Winery (Fruska Gora, Srem) while the award for the best red wine in Serbia in 2016 goes to CABERNET SAUVIGNON 25 SPECIAL RESERVE 2012 from Radovanovic Winery (Sumadija).

These awards indicate that the Danube region is quickly coming into the spotlight when we speak about quality of wines in the whole region.
