Svishtov city centre is located on a small hill near from the bank of the Danube. It is just 82km from the main transport hub of Ruse. There is a very pleasant green area on the Danube river, situated near the Roman town of Nove and other tourist attractions and monuments. During their stay in the city, visitors can enjoy the “Aleko Konstantinov” house-museum, the Ethnographic Museum, Svishtov Monastery of Pokrov Bogorodichen, the Museum of Urban Life and Culture and the Holy Trinity Church. Around the “Academic” Stadium, home to the OFC Akademik Svishtov football team there are pedestrian zones and there is parking at the main entrance.
How to reach Svishtov
Sisak is the administrative centre of Sisak-Moslavina County, Croatia's largest river port and a centre of river shipping industry (Dunavski Lloyd). It lies on the main Zagreb-Sisak-Petrinja link road (M12.2) and the railroad Zagreb-Sisak-Sunja.
Trains connect Svishtov several times daily with Levski
The main transport hub for Svishtov is in Ruse (82 km). Hourly bus services connect the two cities; a twice daily service connects Svishtov with Vidin (283 km). Tourists catch a bus either in Pleven or in Kozloduy.
